(of girls and women) to tie the loose end of the sari tightly round the waist, (cp.) to tuck up one's clothes. ̃ড়া n. a herbs; a medicinal herb. ̃গাছড়া n. herbs or medicinal herbs collectively. ̃গাছালি same as গাছগাছড়া । ̃তলা n. the bottom or underneath part of a tree. ̃পাকা naturally ripe. ̃পালা n. pl. trees and plants collectively; vegetation. ̃মরিচ n. red pepper. গাছে কাঁঠাল গোঁপে তেল বা গাছে না উঠতেই এক কাঁদি (fig.—ridi.) to count one's chickens before they are hatched. গাছে চড়ানো v. (fig.—ridi.) to inflate one with overpraise or flattery, to heap hyperbolical or excessive praise upon a person. গাছে তুলে (দিয়ে) মই কেড়ে নেওয়া (fig.—ridi.) to induce a person to run into a hazard by promising help and then abandon him. 8)
