(p. 278) khāḍ়ā erect, upright; vertical; perpendicular; precipitous, steep; full, at a stretch, without break (খাড়া দু-মাইল, খাড়া দু-ঘন্টা); standing (খাড়া পাহারা). n. a stem or stalk (শজনের খাড়া). খাড়া করা v. to cause to stand up; to set erect; to put up (দাবিদার খাড়া করা); to present; to bring into existence; to draw up (খসড়া খাড়া করা) to set up, to found, to establish (স্কুল খাড়া করা, যুক্তি খাড়া করা); to bring round (রোগীকে খাড়া করা). খাড়া হওয়া v. to stand up; to stand erect; to keep standing; to come round. খাড়াই n. height, altitude; upward slope, a steep gradient or rise. ̃খাড়ি adv. lengthwise. 5)
